Which Golfer Will Win The Wyndham Championship?

The Wyndham Championship is the final event of the PGA Tour regular season, making it the last opportunity for players to improve their FedExCup position before the playoffs. 

Golfers near the top-70 cutoff will be fighting to extend their seasons, while those already safely in the field can build momentum before the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Defending champion Cameron Young enters as the clear favorite, but several established names and rising contenders could challenge him in Greensboro. Let's look at the top contenders to win the Wyndham, according to Kalshi.

Cameron Young is the clear favorite for good reason. He earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 2025 Wyndham Championship and has added two more wins and eight top-10 finishes this season. Young is now the No. 3 golfer in the world and has put himself firmly in the Player of the Year conversation. Another win at Sedgefield would strengthen his case, especially if he becomes the first golfer since Sam Snead in 1956 to successfully defend the Wyndham Championship.

Jackson Koivun has wasted little time proving he belongs on the PGA Tour. The 21-year-old won the 3M Open in just his third professional start, setting the tournament scoring record at 25-under and beating Scottie Scheffler by three strokes. Koivun also finished T5 at Sedgefield as an amateur last year, so his strong course fit is not theoretical. Fatigue and inexperience are fair concerns, but his recent form makes him possibly the biggest threat to Young.

Hideki Matsuyama is still looking for his first victory of the season, but his game is peaking at the right time. He followed a T14 at The Open with finishes of third at the 3M Open and fifth at the Rocket Classic. Matsuyama’s elite iron play should give him plenty of birdie opportunities at Sedgefield, where he finished T3 in 2016. Putting is always the question, but even an average week on the greens could be enough for him to contend.

Ben Griffin has not matched his three-win 2025 season, but he remains one of the more reliable golfers in the field. He has made 19 of 22 cuts this year, recorded four top-10 finishes, and placed T11 at the Wyndham Championship last season. Griffin’s accuracy and putting fit Sedgefield well, and the North Carolina native should be comfortable in these conditions. He hasn't been in true contention often this year, but this is a good spot for that to change.

Justin Thomas has been consistently competitive this season without turning a strong week into a victory. His T4 at the PGA Championship showed that his best golf is still good enough to compete with anyone, while his aggressive iron play and wedge game are a natural fit for Sedgefield. Thomas has been unable to string together four complete rounds often enough, but this weaker field gives him one of his best chances to win in 2026. JT is firmly inside the top 70 who advance, but he would greatly benefit from increasing his seeding heading into the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
