Here at Sportsbooks Online, we’ve sifted through every legal online sportsbook in the US to help you find the right betting site for your needs. Check out our list below with rankings of every single US sportsbook.

You can click each option to get a quick summary of what the sportsbook offers, while our top choices have full reviews dedicated to them.

Offshore Sportsbooks

You may be wondering why some online betting sites that other sportsbook comparison sites talk about are not included on this list. That's because we only include legal, licensed, and regulated sportsbooks that operate under US jurisdiction on our site. So that means no offshore sportsbooks like Bovada, MyBookie, and BetUS.

We take the duty of making sure you have a safe and secure sports betting experience extremely seriously, so we strongly recommend using one of the legal online sportsbooks we have listed for you on this page and not an offshore sportsbook.

Are online sportsbooks legal in the US?

While it varies from state to state, online sports betting is perfectly legal in many US states. Every single sportsbook you see and ever will see on this site is legal, licensed, and regulated.

Additionally, within each entry on this list you will see highlighted in bold text the states in which each bookmaker is available.

How do you rank all US sportsbooks?

There are many different criteria upon which one can judge a sportsbook. In our reviews, we make sure to highlight the following criteria:

  • Bonus Offers - How valuable is the sign up bonus? Does this sportsbook offer promotions for existing customers or neglect you once your foot's in the door? This is an opportunity to get value, so thoroughly evaluating the sportsbook promos offered are very important to determine the true value of a sportsbook.
  • Betting Variety - Does a sportsbook offer advanced ways to play like Same Game Parlays? How is the live betting? Can you access an online casino from your sports betting account? A sportsbook must satisfy the needs of many different types of players to be considered elite
  • Mobile Experience - How is the sportsbook's mobile app? Is it available on iPhone and Android? Most bets are placed via a mobile device these days, so this is a major element of any sportsbook's overall experience.
  • Betting Experience - How does a sportsbook feel? Is the website or app laggy? Does it feel laggy, messy, or outdated? You want to make sure you'll actually have fun on a betting site, not frustrated by your time on the book.
  • Payment Options - How many payment options are available? How long do payouts take? Are there minimum requirements for payments and withdrawals? If you want to be secure with your hard-earned money, then this is a crucial element of any sportsbook.
  • Customer Support - If an issue arises, will you be able to easily get in contact with customer support? Is it hard to get in contact with an actual person? Hopefully, you won't need it but having a spare tire in your trunk never hurts.
Are there any missing sportsbooks in the list of all US sportsbooks?

Notably, we have made a conscious decision not to include offshore sportsbooks on our site. They exist in a bit of a legal grey area and there have been tons of cases of customers being treated poorly by those sites. If you can, we highly suggest using a legal online sportsbook that we have listed on our site.

There are also some states with complex sports betting laws. For example, in Rhode Island bettors used to be required to use the state lottery sports betting system and in Nevada, bettors must be on the premises of an in-person sportsbook that works with their mobile sportsbook (for example, you can use BetMGM in the MGM Grand). Since these are such special circumstances, we have decided to exclude them from our list.

In terms of legal online sportsbooks, we believe we have found every single one readily available for use in the US. The state of sports betting in the US is constantly in flux these days, so if there's something we missed, feel free to drop us a line!

How did you find all US sportsbooks?

Each sportsbook we've listed is licensed in at least one state, which means that they should be listed on each state's websites. Some of these government websites aren't the most up-to-date (shocking, right?) so we then cross-referenced this information with the individual sportsbooks' sites to determine every state where they were available. It was a long process, but it was a labor of love to provide you with the most exhaustive and comprehensive list of all US sportsbooks you'll find anywhere!
