Montana Sportsbooks
Looking for an online sportsbook in Montana? We've got you covered. While Montana's only traditional online sportsbook operation is done through Sports Bet Montana, you cannot place bets unless you are in an authorized Sports Bet Montana location. On this page, we'll show you a few Social Sportsbooks and other alternatives that are safe and legal to use in Montana and even allow bettors to win real cash prizes on their sports bets.
The Sports Bet Montana app is the only mobile or online method for connecting with sportsbooks on the go, but the app won't allow you to place actual wagers unless you're at an authorized Sports Bet Montana location. Fortunately, there are nearly 150 authorized locations where users can place bets in the SBM app.
When you're not at an authorized location, here are a few ways you can use the Sports Bet Montana app:
- Log In/Register
- Upload Documents
- Browse the Site
- Make a Deposit or Withdrawal
- Prepare Your Wagers in a Betslip
- Set Personal Limits
- Change Your Personal Details
As we mentioned above, online sports betting is not yet legal in the state of Montana. While in-person betting is permitted at authorized Sports Bet Montana locations, the most popular betting apps in the US are not available in Montana. However, there are a few ways sports fans can make picks on sporting events with the potential to win real cash prizes.
Montana has three social sportsbooks that are safe and legal to use in the state, and that's our recommendation for residents who want to use an app to bet on sports. While DFS and pick'em apps are also illegal in Montana, social sportsbooks are legal because they give bettors the option to play for free without risking money.
Best Social Sportsbooks in Montana
Social sportsbooks are sports betting alternatives that are rising in popularity throughout Montana. Social sportsbooks simulate traditional sports betting by using virtual currency or free-to-play features, allowing users to make picks on real sporting events without risking real money if they don't want to. Unlike traditional sportsbooks, social sportsbooks focus on community engagement, offering features like leaderboards, friend challenges, shared picks, and chatting with other users.
Some social sportsbooks use sweepstakes models that let users redeem winnings for prizes or cash. This makes social sportsbooks legal in more states than real-money betting apps, giving sports fans an option for making picks even if they're in a state where sports betting hasn't yet been legalized. Some also rely on peer-to-peer gameplay that allows users to bet against each other rather than against a sportsbook, which often removes a "vig" — a small cut that sportsbooks take on each bet — from users' picks.

Currently the most widely-used social sportsbook online in the US, Fliff blends the excitement of sports betting with a legal, risk-free model accessible across more US states than any other social sportsbook. It operates using a sweepstakes system, where users place picks with virtual currency and can redeem Fliff Cash for real prizes. This approach allows fans to enjoy the thrill of betting without traditional gambling restrictions or monetary risk if they don't want to lose money.
What makes Fliff especially appealing is its clean interface, wide range of sports and markets, and strong community features like leaderboards and streak challenges. Whether you're a seasoned bettor or a casual fan, Fliff offers a fun, low-pressure way to engage with sports. The layout of this app, and the information they provide you and the amount of time you can save by using this app, as opposed to another app, its worth putting your money in this app, even if it takes time to withdraw. Which should be adjusted in 2025 honestly that is a major flaw. Nevertheless.
Looking at this app from a third-party perspective, you have to take into consideration the amount of money being spent on gambling, and they tell you exactly how much Fliff coins and that gives you a point of reference .
Between this and another app a laptop a tablet some paper and pens and a small bank roll the right person will be able to profit from sports betting. It took a lot of losses for me to cut back my Wager amounts then learning so much more about other sports do your research and use Fliff I haven’t spoke to anyone on the social side yet but first 11 leg Fliff cash play cashed for $202. This app hasn’t paid me a dime. As a member they gave me a promo $5 and $1 Fliff cash I just placed a free wager with it is all. Thank you so much Fliff for changing the game.

If you are in a state that doesn't have legal gambling then this is your best app available. Definitely better options available online though (bo vada). You have to appreciate the expanded markets for game betting such as MLs, spreads and other various game bets, which puts this app as a better option than prize picks, underdog etc. And the all mighty daily dollar when your account is under $5 is always a nice touch. The biggest issue this app has is their SGPs. Stay far away if you intend to bet those. Their odds calculation is so off and so much value is lost. I have noticed differences between them and other books, where a regular book is only taking away 10-15% in correlation value and fliff is taking away nearly 50%. Simply unacceptable if you care about your money. There is also the issue of not being able to combine sgp picks with those from another game.
All in all a solid app and certainly the most capable in non-legal states. Place your SGPs ELSEWHERE.

Live betting and player props make the app start lagging out to the point you literally have to close the app. You have to confirm the odds change before placing the bet and it takes a minute to read and the moneyline is constantly changing. the more player props you add, the more the app starts freezing. Odds are less for the underdog and more for the fav. The free $1 everyday is nice, the live chat and betting statistics are also nice, but when it comes to the sportsbooks I recommend others.

Pretty good app. I really enjoy using Fliff for bets. It is slow during games but can be dealt with. The reason I am dropping 2 stars is that the arrows changed to a foreign symbol on my app. That is not a good sign of security. I have been with them for years and it all of a sudden changed one day, so I am not going to be putting in any more cash until it changes back and I have a decent explanation why they changed in the first place.

I love that you aren’t stuck with the spread that the house sets. You can adjust the spread and odds depending on how much risk you want to take.

WagerLab offers some of the best features of any social sportsbook by allowing users to bet with friends for fun or real money without having to use a traditional sports betting app. The WagerLab mobile app supports head-to-head and group bets across a wide variety of sports and events. This peer-to-peer model removes the house entirely, creating a casual betting experience that's still competitive.
Its standout features include custom bet creation, tracking tools, and integrated chat, making it easy for users to manage bets and stay engaged with other players. With no fees, easy-to-use interfaces, and wide accessibility across states, WagerLab is a top option for social, flexible sports wagering.

My competitiveness wants to see how good I would be at sports betting but I don’t want to risk my own money. This is perfect. I can test my ability to make predictions, learn about different leagues, and have fun without risking my own money!

Fun playing with the odds. Nice work.
However at times the app is really slow and near impossible to put in a multi game parlay because the app hangs and takes forever to add multiple betting scenarios for a parlay. By the time you wait and wait and get it done and submit the odds have changed and you have to start over. That gets really old really fast. so work on the performance and ability to do multi game parlays more efficiently and this would be pretty good. There’s times when I’m on the screen where nothing will work. I can’t tap anywhere to move the focus like it’s just an image with no hyperlinks. And then about a minute later it starts to work. That delay is so critical when you’re trying to do live betting, please fix that.

No same game parlays, difficult to make the parlays because of how it's set up, more bets drop-downs are glitchy and sometimes don't load even after several attempts. Needs to have more of a sports book app feel vs a video game feel. I like it because it feeds my addiction for sports betting without the losses because nobody is perfect at this, not even the Expert Pickers.

Overall, it's not good. It has no alt lines, and it's odds are skewed from every other betting platform (for example: on here they'll have Some Guy Rushing Yards Over/Under 255.5 when on any other platform you'll get Over/Under 230.5) which isn't great for the user. Most options are locked behind a subscription, which you may as well spend on actual bets instead. The app itself doesn't allow you to search for matches when adding parlay legs, and freezes if you tab out into another app.
