Fliff Review

Founded in 2018 and released in '19 as a sweepstakes sports betting product, Fliff has evolved into one of the most popular, high-quality social sportsbooks on the market. Fliff looks and feels just like a traditional sports betting app, but its designation as a social sportsbook means it's legal in more states, includes social elements and features a mode in which users can play without risking money.

That doesn't mean you can't win money on Fliff — quite the opposite! Sites like Fliff do not simply prompt users to deposit money and bet with it; instead, users purchase Fliff Coins which can't be redeemed for real money. In each package of Fliff Coins is included a batch of Fliff Cash, which can in fact be redeemed for real cash prizes.

These are the hoops all social sportsbooks jump through in order to be legal in more states than they otherwise would be. Fliff has arguably done a better job than most social sportsbooks in this regard, as they're available in more states than almost any other betting app.

In this review, we'll break down key features of Fliff, from its social sportsbook to its social casino, from betting features to social features and more. We'll even show you how to get started, what kind of payment options are available, and give you some insight into their customer service.

The best sports betting app of any social sportsbook

Our tl;dr review of Fliff? When you're one of the most widely-used social sportsbooks and you have an App Store rating of 4.8 and a Google Play rating of 4.7, you're bringing your A-game. Fliff has an outstanding mobile app that looks and feels just like a real sportsbook, and their social casino games are highly functional, diverse and fun to play. Fliff is a trustworthy betting app and safe to use, and while Fliff's customer service options may leave something to be desired, the quality of Fliff's product is high enough to hopefully keep you from needing much help.

Getting Started on Fliff

The best way to read this review? Probably as you navigate the Fliff app for the first time. It's quick and easy to get started on Fliff, but it will take a moment of your time to fill out some basic information for yourself in order to keep your account safe and secure. Once you've done that, you'll be eligible to receive your welcome bonus.

Getting started on the Fliff app

Getting started on the Fliff app

Once you're ready to get started on Fliff, here's a quick overview of what you'll need to do before placing bets:

  • Download the Fliff app
  • Click "Sign Up"
  • Continue with an email address, Google login or Apple login
  • Click "Verify My Account"
  • Enter some basic information like your name and address
  • Claim your welcome offer
  • Place your bets!

Promotions on Fliff

Many sports bettors, especially those who frequent our site, are looking for a new sportsbook to take advantage of their welcome offer and any promotions they have available for new users. Social sportsbooks typically aren't great for these users — they tend to offer much smaller welcome offers than betting apps like FanDuel and DraftKings, and any bonus bets or bet boosts come few and far between.

Fliff does have a leg up on other social sportsbooks in this area, though. While their promotion suite isn't brimming with boosts and bonuses, they feature a no-deposit welcome offer in addition to a deposit bonus. That means you can start with a lump sum of Fliff Coins and one dollar in Fliff Cash and gradually turn it into a bigger sum, or purchase a pack of coins to earn a much bigger reward.

Here's more on each of Fliff's rewards offerings:

Fliff Deposit Bonus

New users who purchase at least $5 in coins from the Fliff Shop will have their purchase doubled with a maximum $50 in Fliff Coins, which can be wagered for real cash prizes. Functionally, this means users need to go to the Shop, and if they haven't yet claimed this offer, each package of coins worth any amount between $5 and $50 will be displayed with a special icon indicating that the offer is being doubled for a new user.

Fliff Sign-Up Offer

Don't want to risk your hard-earned money to make picks on Fliff? You can always use Fliff Coins — you'll receive 6,000 of these just for signing up before even making a deposit, but they can't be redeemed for cash prizes. The best part about Fliff's sign-up offer is that it includes one dollar in Fliff Cash that can be wagered and redeemed for real money. You can't redeem cash prizes until you've earned 50 dollars in Fliff Cash, though, so it's going to take some winning!

Rewards and Experience Points on Fliff

Rewards and Experience Points on Fliff

Refer a Friend to Fliff

In the Fliff Rewards tab, you'll see a referral code and a referral link that you can send to friends and family to earn Experience Points, or XP. XP can be used to purchase more bundles of coins, or they can be used to purchase gift cards from popular brands. You can earn up to 10,000 XP from each of your referrals.

Fliff XP (Experience Points)

As we just noted, XP can help you purchase more bundles of coins and even gift cards from Fliff for popular brands in many industries. You can also accrue XP by wagering with Fliff Coins — as you can see in the image above, you'll earn on XP for each 1,000 Fliff Coins you wager. So while Fliff Coins cannot be redeemed for real cash prizes, they can be used to purchase Fliff Cash, which can be.

Experience Points (XP) Value

Note: It takes 100 XP to purchase the equivalent of $1 in Fliff Coins or to purchase $1 in gift cards on Fliff.

Fliff Betting Features

As we've mentioned throughout this review, Fliff's main goal is to create a sports betting experience that rivals traditional sportsbooks like Bet365 or BetRivers, and they accomplish that goal with flying colors in almost every respect. The sheer number of prop bets available, especially for major sports, is extremely impressive in addition to the wide array of sports they offer.

Fliff also offers users the ability to parlay picks in their Parlay+ system, which operates exactly like parlays on a standard betting app. And with both live betting and live parlays, there truly aren't any areas where sports bettors will feel Fliff comes up short — except for one, which we'll address shortly.

Sports betting features on Fliff

Sports betting features on Fliff

Here's a quick list of the types of basic sports bets at your disposal on Fliff:

  • Moneylines: Pick which team you think will win
  • Point Spreads: Pick which team you think will win against the spread
  • Totals: Choose over or under a projected score total
  • Parlays: Combine picks for longer odds
  • Same-Game Parlays: Combine picks from the same game for longer odds
  • Live Betting: Bet on games while they're being played
  • Live Parlays: Combine picks on games while they're being played
  • Team Prop Bets: Bet on a team to go over or under a projected statistic
  • Player Prop Bets: Bet on a player to go over or under a projected statistic
No Futures Betting on Fliff

One facet of the sports betting experience on Fliff that is below standard is their exclusion of futures markets. While traditional sportsbooks and even most social sportsbooks allow bettors to wager on future events like a league champion, awards like MVP or stat leaders for a full season, these are unfortunately not available on Fliff.

Fliff Social Casino

Are you a sports bettor who's also into social casino games? With Fliff, you can enjoy countless casino games, with tons of slots, blackjack tables, live tables, live poker and more that's highly functional and a ton of fun to play.

And best of all — this is all available in the same app as the Fliff social sportsbook. While some betting apps separate sportsbook from their casino games, only offer them on desktop or mobile web, Fliff's social casino is seamlessly integrated into the same app that lets you bet on sports. And the best part? Users can enjoy a shared wallet between the social sportsbook and casino, wagering and earning coins on both styles of gameplay from the same collection of coins.

The new social casino on Fliff

Casino games on Fliff's new social casino

Fliff boasts an impressive sports betting experience, but unfortunately, the social features they offer in the app are far less useful. Let's take a look at some of the ways Fliff has integrated social features into their app.

Fliff Social Features

There are two different approaches most social sportsbooks take to the idea of being a social-focused betting platform. The first is for apps like Dabble and Rebet that devote lots of resources and real estate within their mobile apps for social features like chatting, copying other users' picks, forums and more.

Fliff lets social elements remain secondary to a strong sports betting experience

The other approach? Letting the "social" in "social sportsbook" serve mainly as a way to create a legal sports betting app that looks and feels just like a traditional sportsbook. This is the approach that Fliff has taken.

Snapshot of Fliffs in app chat feature

Snapshot of Fliff's in-app chat feature

As you can see in the image above, even Fliff's chat feature — arguably the marquee social feature it offers — is a substandard product. A welcome screen warns users against spamming and advertising, only to allow the platform to be rife with both.

Fliff also offers an "Activity" tab to view the games most players are betting on and a "Leaderboards" tab to show the top bettors on each sport each day. Neither of these tabs add much in terms of a social experience — again, this is Fliff doing the bare minimum in the social realm because that is not their main focus.

While you won't get to experience stellar social elements on Fliff, it's pretty clear that that's not what the app is for. Rather than using time and space to flex their social prowess, Fliff lets those elements remain secondary to the sports betting experience. That dings their rating a bit on the social side, but because the sports betting experience is so strong, it's arguably proven beneficial in the end.

Sports Available on Fliff

If there's a sport you're looking to bet on, chances are it's available on Fliff — but that's not the case for every sport. Fliff covers the traditional bases by offering major American sports like football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer, but doesn't make an extra effort to include niche sports like table tennis or cricket.

Still, within each of the sports offered on Fliff is an enormous array of leagues — Fliff clearly prioritized fewer sports in their offering so that they could include every league imaginable for the sports they believe most people care about

One exception, however, is Fliff's limited markets for golf events like PGA TOUR tournaments, which tend to only offer bets on a champion instead of a full suite of prop bets.

Fliff Mobile App Review

We rated the top mobile apps among social sportsbooks for our social sportsbook rankings, and the results couldn't have been better for Fliff fans: Fliff ranks as our top mobile app among all social sportsbooks because of its great design, functionality, seamless integration of casino and overall sports betting experience.

And don't just take our word for it — with a 4.8 rating in the Apple App Store and 4.7 in the Google Play store, user reviews have been overwhelmingly positive for the Fliff app for quite some time. Most users love that you can earn money on a free-to-play app as well as the fact that it's available in more states than traditional sportsbooks.

While user reviews both in the App Store and Google Play store have been overwhelmingly positive, we thought it'd be a good idea to include a couple of negative reviews so that you're aware of some negative feedback Fliff has received. That being said, here's a positive and negative review for each of Fliff's mobile apps

Fliff App Store Reviews

Legal Sports Betting in Texas... finally — 5/5 ⭐️

Bimmerboost, Jan. 7, 2025

The layout of this app, and the information they provide you and the amount of time you can save by using this app, as opposed to another app, its worth putting your money in this app, even if it takes time to withdraw. Which should be adjusted in 2025 honestly that is a major flaw. Nevertheless. Looking at this app from a third-party perspective, you have to take into consideration the amount of money being spent on gambling, and they tell you exactly how much Fliff coins and that gives you a point of reference. Between this and another app, a laptop, a tablet, some paper and pens, and a small bank roll, the right person will be able to profit from sports betting. It took a lot of losses for me to cut back my Wager amounts, then learning so much more about other sports — do your research and use Fliff. I haven't spoke to anyone on the social side yet but first 11 leg Fliff cash play cashed for $202. This app hasn't paid me a dime. As a member they gave me a promo $5 and $1 Fliff cash I just placed a free wager with it is all. Thank you so much Fliff for changing the game.

Worst Betting App I've Used — 1/5 ⭐️

TruthHolder8888, Nov. 27, 2024

I've used a lot of sports betting apps over the years, but this one offers no benefits to make it more appealing than other apps that generally have good bonuses every week. What baffles me the most is the coin system in this app. The coins are apparently supposed to be a currency used just for clout, but they cost real money and can earn you experience that can be exchanged for gift cards worth real money. For the first time user bonus, you get double cash and can buy coins and cash at the same time. This is a great deal for the cash part, but it turns out that coins are pretty much useless. The description for coins says they only grant xp the first time they are played. What makes absolutely no sense is that winning more coins does not allow the new coins you play with from winning to earn xp. If you bet all the coins the maximum purchase would give you, you'll get $10 worth of xp. Unfortunately, this doesn't matter at all, because gift cards can only be exchanged for $15 worth or more of xp. So you have to buy another $50 worth of this useless currency for... a $15 gift card. You are literally throwing your money down the drain if you ever buy coins, but at least the cash part of the app makes sense and works fine. It just feels so wrong to have this other currency that costs real money and does absolutely nothing for you.

This app is awesome as a free player. Let's you enjoy sports gambling without having to put your own money on the line. plus when you win you can actually withdraw real money, I've won like 250 bucks so far and I havent put any money in.

Good interface and everything. But the payout system is significantly slower than the other options out there. Which is extremely frustrating. It tells you they have "instant" bank transfers, but it is far from "instant". Very misleading. It has taken me 3+ days for each withdrawal. Love the app, but it is difficult to use it over the other options because of the slow payouts.

Fliff is one of the most widely-available sports betting apps in the US, with its social sportsbook designation making it available in almost every state. Because traditional betting apps like FanDuel and DraftKings have far more resources to put into their sportsbooks, it's important for social sportsbooks like Fliff to be available where major bookmakers aren't, and Fliff has answered the bell in that regard.

Having said that, even social sportsbooks like Rebet and Betr are available in far fewer states than Fliff. That makes Fliff's availability one of its finest attributes.

Fliff Legal States

Fliff's social sportsbook is legal in every US state except these four:

  • California
  • Idaho
  • Washington
  • West Virginia

Cash Streaks and Cash Sweepstakes games are subject to further state regulations and are available in fewer states than Fliff's social sportsbook.

Use Fliff Where Sports Betting Isn't Yet Legal

Live in a state that doesn't have legal sports betting? You're in luck — Fliff, like many social sportsbooks, has made an effort to be available to sports bettors who currently live in a non-legal sports betting state. If you live in one of the following states in which sports betting isn't yet legal, you can still make picks and earn cash prizes on Fliff:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Georgia
  • Hawaii
  • Minnesota
  • Oklahoma
  • South Carolina
  • Texas
  • Utah

Fliff Customer Support

Social sportsbooks often offer customer service help that can be hit-or-miss. Why? Traditional sports betting apps like BetMGM and Bet365  have enormous resources behind them, and social sportsbooks like Fliff often don't have the resources to prioritize customer support as much as the big guys.

Fliff, on the other hand, grades out quite well for customer support options on a social sportsbook. With an AI support bot, message submission and a responsive support email, Fliff should have you covered if you're in need of help.

Fliff Payment Options

When you initially sign up with Fliff, they'll give you 1,000 Fliff Coins and one dollar in Fliff Cash to get you started. But if you run through your free coins or simply want to make larger wagers, head to the Fliff Shop, where you can buy packages of Fliff Coins and Fliff Cash in different increments. If you spend $20, for example, you can buy a package of 100,000 Fliff Coins to go along with your $20 in Fliff Cash.

In your first trip to the Fliff Shop, you'll see prices offered with their welcome offer. A $2 purchase is too low to initiate the bonus offer, then each package of higher increments includes a 100% match up to $100.

Payment and Prize Redemption on the Fliff app

The following payment methods are available for Fliff users looking to purchase more Fliff Coins and Fliff Cash:

  • Instant Bank Transfer
  • Credit Card
  • Debit Card

When you've reached the thresshold of 50 in Fliff Cash and want to redeem cash prizes, these are the options for getting money from your Fliff account to your wallet:

  • Credit Card
  • Debit Card
  • Instant Bank Transfer
  • Skrill
  • Push-to-Debit
Limited Payment Options on Fliff

While a wide array of payment methods isn't typical for a social sportsbook, it's worth noting that lots of sports bettors prefer using digital payment platforms like PayPal, Venmo or Apple Pay to purchase coins or redeem cash prizes. At this time, none of these digital payment platforms are available to use on Fliff.

How We Rate Social Sportsbooks

Here at Sportsbooks Online, we review social sportsbooks just like we rate traditional sportsbooks — our ratings and opinions are based on the following criteria:

  • Sportsbook Bonus Offers: Does this betting app offer a generous welcome bonus?
  • Betting Variety: From live betting to same-game parlays, what betting options are available?
  • Mobile Betting Experience: Most bettors use mobile apps to make picks; does this app meet expectations?
  • Availability: Is this sportsbook available in your state and for someone your age?
  • Payment Options: Aside from credit cards and online banking, are digital payment methods utilized?
  • Customer Support: Is this sportsbook's customer service team responsive?
