theScore Bet is coming soon to the US, and it will look familiar to regular sports bettors. ESPN BET and PENN Entertainment have dissolved their relationship, so PENN is rebranding their ESPN BET app as theScore Bet. Find out more about this new sports betting app in this review!

theScore Bet Review
Welcome to Sportsbooks Online's unbiased theScore Bet Sportsbook review! Looking for a new app to bet on sports? Curious if theScore Bet is right for you? On this page, we'll break down the pros and cons of theScore Bet Sportsbook, review their mobile app, show you how to claim their sign-up bonus, and much more.
One thing we'll emphasize quite a bit in this review is that theScore Bet is not a knock-off or a step down from the company's previous identity as ESPN BET, and while many ESPN BET users may be skeptical about staying on with theScore Bet, one thing is clear to us: theScore Bet boasts one of the best mobile betting experiences for sports bettors in the US, and they've improved quite a bit since transitioning away from ESPN BET.

Choose from pre-built parlays in theScore Bet's Parlay Lounge
So, what makes theScore Bet one of the premier sportsbooks in the US right now? First of all, their mobile app functions as well as any on the market, its design rivals top-tier interfaces like Caesars and Bet365, and you won't experience persistent lags or glitches. theScore Bet's welcome offer is a bit closer to average, but they do include tons of promotions and rewards like bet boosts and deposit matches.
PENN Entertainment's latest betting app remains one of the best on the market
You'll find a wide array of sports available to bet on with theScore Bet, and while that's certainly a plus, it should be expected for a sportsbook aiming to compete with the likes of FanDuel and DraftKings. But even those top sportsbooks don't have quite the same betting experience as theScore Bet, who offers virtually unlimited parlay options and even retained some special features that rolled out during the ESPN BET era.
theScore Bet's Top Features
🔥 Live streaming for select broadcasts when you bet on them
🔥 FanCenter features betting options based on your past wagers
🔥 Mobile app looks and functions as well as any betting app
🔥 Tons of promos like bet boosts on offer
🔥 Parlay betting experience is vast with specific wager options
theScore Bet Welcome Offer & Promotions
Like the other top sportsbooks online, theScore Bet presents new users with a welcome offer and distributes bet boosts, bonuses and deposit matches for existing users on a regular basis. We'll break down some of their best and most frequent promotions below, but first, let's dig into their welcome offer.
theScore Bet Welcome Offer
theScore Bet's promo code is solid and definitely worth taking advantage of if you're comfortable making the minimum deposit. However, compared to other top sportsbooks online like DraftKings and FanDuel, the offer doesn't quite match up. Several sportsbooks offer $200 or more for first-time users, and until theScore Bet matches their competitors' offers, their welcome bonus won't be their best selling point.
When discussing the rest of theScore Bet's suite of promotions and rewards, on the other hand, we've got more positive news to report.
theScore Bet Promotions & Rewards

theScore Bet offers a vast array of bet boosts and bonuses
Below is a list of some of the recurring promotions on theScore Bet. Note: These promotions all have limited windows, so check the theScore Bet app or website to confirm availability.
- Bank & Boost: Invited players who received an email invitation will receive $20 in bonus bets
- Bet Reset: Place a bet and get your wager back in bonus bets if you lose
- Bonus Bets: Get non-withdrawable bonus bets added to your account to play through
- Deposit Matches: Get your deposit matched either partially or in full by theScore Bet
- Injury Insurance: Get your wager back in bonus bets if you lose due to a player injury
- New Player 24-Hour Insurance: New Hollywood Casino players get 100% back in bonus bets for their first 24 hours on theScore Bet
- Overtime Protection: Get your wager back in bonus bets if the team you bet on loses in overtime
- Parlay Club: Receive a bonus bet for placing a parlay with minimum leg and odds requirements
- Play of the Week: Enter for a chance to win the jackpot and receive a profit boost for making a particular bet
- Profit Boosts: Get boosts and boost packs by opting in when offered
- Refer a Friend: Get $50 in bonus bets when you refer a friend to theScore Bet

Get exclusive boosts and specials from theScore Bet
In addition to the promotions offered by theScore Bet, they also offer boosts on pre-built parlays and pre-selected events and futures like Super Bowl winner or World Series winner. This experience is pretty universal for sports betting apps, so expect pre-built parlays and boosts to look similar to what's offered on apps like Bet365.
theScore Bet App Review
While theScore Bet does feature a solid desktop experience for users who want to place bets from a computer, let's face it — about 80% of sports bettors in the US do their sports betting on a mobile app, so a top-tier handheld experience is essential for a sportsbook who wants to be a major player. Fortunately, theScore Bet brings the goods when it comes to their mobile app.
theScore Bet's mobile app has high-quality design with a sleek interface and an interface that rivals any US sportsbook in terms of quality, and the functionality of the app ranks among the best sports betting apps, too. You won't experience many lags like you do on BetMGM or glitches that often occur on Bet365, and while it may be a bit surprising, even DraftKings and FanDuel's sportsbook apps don't quite have the elevated user experience that theScore Bet offers.

One additional feature we enjoy about theScore Bet's mobile app is a pretty minuscule detail, but users who can't stand the way sports betting apps display the rewards that are available in your betslip will be pleasantly surprised by theScore Bet's rewards interface. Plenty of apps (we're looking at you, Hard Rock Bet) include bonus bets and boosts that they don't even notify users about. Tons of others don't display the rewards until you reach the minimum odds or number or picks.

Superior rewards display on the theScore Bet app
But on the theScore Bet app, your rewards are always shown in your betslip. They'll be grayed out until you reach the minimum odds or number of picks, then they become available to use. In the screenshot above, the parlay on the left doesn't meet the reward minimums — +400 total odds and at least four picks. On the right, however, both requirements are met, so the reward is lit up and available to use.
Simply put, it's a unique way to solve a problem that other sportsbooks don't seem to care to solve. And, side note: Most of these apps glitch out when you apply a reward and then change your parlay. Not theScore Bet. It'll tell you what you need to do to re-apply the reward without freezing or making your reward disappear, as so often happens on betting apps like BetMGM.

Bet to watch live games on the theScore Bet app
Overall, the theScore Bet app is a top-tier product that delivers a solid user experience with a ton of bonus features and user-friendly capabilities. While this is our unbiased take, you might notice some subpar user reviews in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Why? It's likely because past versions of theScore Bet app and even the ESPN BET app paled in comparison to its current state; it also includes product reviews from before ESPN BET took over Barstool Sportsbook, which tells you a little bit about PENN's winding road with their sports betting app.
With that caveat, here are a few real user reviews of the theScore Bet app:

The ability to customize round lines for MMA to some degree at least is one of the coolest features I've ever seen in a sportsbook. Features like that will be the reason why this is my go to book over everybody else. THANK YOU!!!
Please avoid. Better sportsbooks to play at

I started using ESPN Bet day one since they launched. They had a lot of great and interesting promos that were enjoyable. I have played pretty much every single day since i created my account. You would think there would be some level of loyalty from a company you spend money with, right? Wrong. Make sure you never win because if you do this company will IMMEDIATELY do everything they can legally do to “close” your account. They remove you from all promos citing “abuse”. (I didn’t know using promos offered every day is abuse. In that case i guess everyone who uses promos daily are abusing). They will limit all your bets to $5 max winnings (essentially useless). Lastly, they will give you no road to recovering full functionality from your account. With so many other sportsbook competitors — take your business elsewhere unless you would like to do donate your money to ESPN. They are not in the business of taking wagers, they are in the business of taking donations from their customers. Shame on them. I have won $849 all time. That is all it took for ESPN to say “hey we dont want your play”. Loyalty is not rewarded, it is punished by ESPN Bet. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere to place your sports wagers.

Definitely my favorite of the sports betting apps. They have all the stats available at the push of a button in the app. I no longer have to go back and forth trying to Google player stats or teams. It is all right there. Withdrawing or cashing out was super fast and easy as well. I had my money in about 6 hours. They had all sports listed at the top, even the WTA. Bonus bets were also there immediately & I won almost 1k from them which is more than any other app, cuz of the stats

Good until you start winning. I had no issues as long as I was losing bets. However, as soon as I won $100, they limited my maximum bet size to $3-$5 to make sure I can't win anymore money. I had heard of these books limiting folks after they won a lot of money but $100!? That's crazy to me, especially because I had probably lost triple that previously.
theScore Bet Betting Features
If you've used a sports betting app like Fanatics Sportsbook or Hard Rock Bet before, you've come to expect a substantial offering of betting features from an app like theScore Bet. After testing their betting features, we think you'll be satisfied with theScore Bet's offering.
The standard features you expect with impressive add-ons
They offer traditional bets like moneylines, parlays and spreads along with same-game parlays and a ton of player prop options. Their live betting function is as solid as any on the market and even allows for same-game parlays after a game has started.
theScore Bet Available Sports
theScore Bet's wide array of sports and events available for betting rivals that of any sports betting app from BetMGM to Bally Bet and everything in between. Traditional American leagues like NFL, MLB, NBA and WNBA are available for picks and parlays, as are international sports like soccer, rugby and cricket.

A snapshot of sports available on the theScore Bet app
One area in which theScore Bet could improve, on the other hand, is their offering of non-traditional events like presidential elections and awards shows. As more and more sportsbooks begin to include entertainment markets and prediction markets offer non-sports markets, sportsbooks like theScore Bet should be expected to expand their betting offering. This would also help theScore Bet keep up with social sportsbooks with impressive sports offerings like Dabble.

theScore Bet isn't the most widely-available sportsbook in the US, but it is safe and legal to play in about 20 US states and territories. You don't have to be a full-time resident of one of their legal states; rather, you just need to be physically located in one of their legal states when you use the app.

theScore Bet Payment Options
If you want your sportsbook to be a major player in the US alongside huge brands like DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel, you have to have a wide array of payment options available for all users. Apart from traditional payment methods like credit and debit cards or online banking, it's essential that PayPal and Venmo are available as payment methods, and more digital payment methods should be on offer to accommodate more users.
Luckily, theScore Bet got the message.
Not only does theScore Bet offer payment options like PayPal and Venmo; they also offer Apple Pay, Skrill, and more. Here are the payment methods available on theScore Bet:

theScore Bet Customer Support
As we mention in just about every review on Sportsbooks Online, one of the most important factors in choosing a sportsbook should be what customer support options they offer and how effective they are. theScore Bet has a solid array of customer service options available on their platform, including the following:
- AI Chat Bot: 24/7 live chat
- FAQ on their app and website
- Email: support@thescorebet.com
- Phone: Request a call back from customer support at +1 (844) 953-2121
- Twitter/X: Tag or DM @theScoreBetHelp
In our experience, theScore Bet's customer support options hold up when compared to other US sportsbooks. However, like most sportsbooks, they rely too heavily on an AI chat bot that's not entirely effective. The chat bot has trouble answering some basic questions about the sportsbook that a real person would easily be able to answer.
If you need help while using theScore Bet, we'd recommend using email or reaching out via Twitter/X. Both of those options will get you a response from a real person in a reasonable amount of time without having to chat with an AI bot or wait for a call back.
theScore Bet Review Summary
TL;DR? theScore Bet is a solid sportsbook, and we highly recommend it here at Sportsbooks Online. The main thing to know about theScore Bet Sportsbook — especially if you've heard more cons about it than pros — is that they've gradually improved their product over the past couple of years since buying the product away from Barstool Sports and transitioning away from the ESPN brand.
theScore Bet is slowly becoming one of the top sportsbooks in the US
You may see a handful of negative app reviews for both iOS and Android, but if you use the theScore Bet mobile app yourself, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised. The bet displays on the theScore Bet app are the best we've seen on a sports betting app, from the way they show available promotions to parlay displays and more. And while most betting apps have lags or glitches, theScore Bet hasn't given us any such trouble.
Looking for a new sportsbook? If you want a decent welcome bonus and a great mobile app with tons of sports available to bet on, theScore Bet is a solid option for you.
