From major Australian betting brand BlueBet, ClutchBet arrived stateside in 2022. Users in Iowa were greeted to a solid sportsbook that checked most of the major boxes users are looking for.
During my time working with ClutchBet sportsbook, I found plenty of great options for betting on major sports like the NFL and NBA. In particular, the unique ClutchClash system was a revelation, especially for NBA betting.
Unique features for Iowa bettors, such as promotions for the University of Iowa and Iowa State made the sole-state focus feel justified in the early stages of the US expansion.
The mobile app was far from perfect during my experience, with some noticeable lag occasionally hindering things. Hopefully, this improves a bit as ClutchBet grows.
Also, there were not many niche sports to choose from, which could disservice serious bettors.
On the bright side, there is no minimum withdrawal requirement on ClutchBet. Some major sportsbooks require as much as a $20 minimum withdrawal, so this was a breath of fresh air.
This, combined with the solid betting features for major sports, make ClutchBet a phenomenal option for casual bettors looking to avoid the major sportsbooks.
ClutchBet is currently only available in Iowa, with Colorado to follow soon in March.

🏀 You Want Unique Betting Features
It can be hard to carve out a space in the ever-growing US sports betting market and many operators follow the same patterns of game types, so we appreciate whenever a sportsbook brings something different to the table.
With ClutchBet's ClutchClash feature, users can bet on head-to-head matchups between star players in the NBA or NFL.
So if the Nuggets are playing the Lakers, you can bet on whether Lebron or Nikola Jokic will have more points, rebounds, or assists, for example. You must choose from at least two markets, so you can really break down the match-up.
It's a really cool feature that works perfectly for creating micro Same Game Parlays between superstars.
📲 You Want to Create Same Game Parlays
What used to be a unique feature, has now become commonplace. Still, enough sportsbooks have neglected to add competitive Same Game Parlay betting options, so it's important to highlight those who do.
In my experience with ClutchBet's Same Game Parlay feature, I found it to be a solid experience with options comparable to those of big-brand competitors.
The depth falters a bit for smaller sports, but for major sports like the NBA and NFL, the feature was more than serviceable.
💸 You Want to Withdraw Your Money Easily
While ClutchBet doesn't blow you away with the number of withdrawal methods available, those that are there have a big plus - there are no minimum withdrawal requirements.
That means that even if you have just 25 cents in your account, you're free to withdraw.
It may not seem like much, but some competitors have minimum withdrawal requirements as high as $20. The fact that ClutchBet has done away with this is very user-friendly.
Avoid ClutchBet if... 👎
🇺🇸 You Don't Live in Iowa or Colorado
ClutchBet is taking its time establishing a foothold in the US, so it's reasonable that they're only in a limited number of states.
However, since they're only available in Iowa (and soon Colorado), it's hard to recommend this bookmaker to the vast majority of the nation.
For bettors in those states, it's a solid alternative, but that's a small fraction of the betting public.
🏓 You Want to Bet on Niche Sports
While ClutchBet does a great job handling major sports, less can be said for the selection of niche sports available on the platform.
If you're a serious bettor who likes to wager on smaller sports like table tennis or darts, then you will be out of luck with ClutchBet. There's always time for more options to be added, but as it is right now, this is where we stand.
Again, it's great for the NFL and NBA, but for those looking to bet on small sports then this is not the sportsbook for you.
Comparing ClutchBet to the Competition
While ClutchBet is still a relative newcomer to the US betting scene, it makes sense that it doesn't really compete with the likes of DraftKings and FanDuel quite yet. However, ClutchBet is a really great alternative for users that already have accounts with major books or are looking to avoid them for whatever reason.
Here's how we think ClutchBet stacks up against Bally Bet and Hard Rock Sportsbook - two smaller sportsbooks available in the same states:

Where is ClutchBet Legal?
Launching just in 2022, the number of states where ClutchBet is currently legal is very limited for the time being. However, 2023 is shaping up to be a year of major expansion for the brand.
While the list of ClutchBet states is just one at this point, we can confidently say that more will come soon. ClutchBet is set to launch in Colorado in March, with Louisiana and Indiana set to follow later on in the year.
Soon more Americans will be able to take advantage of this hidden gem in the world of online sportsbooks.
ClutchBet Sports Betting
While ClutchBet may not have the longest list of sports to bet on, what is available has plenty of features to back them up.
Basketball and football bettors in particular have a great slate of options, highlighted by Same Game Parlays and the unique ClutchClash system that allows users to bet on head-to-head match-ups between star players.
On the other hand, baseball, soccer, and hockey bettors may feel a little left out in the cold with these features missing. In the future, we hope that these features are expanded to bettors of all major sports.
ClutchBet has plenty of features for football & basketball betting
Additionally, there aren't too many niche sports available on ClutchBet. It's not like darts or table tennis are major betting markets, but avid users will miss out on these sports.
Again, ClutchBet is a relatively new product, so we expect these areas to improve in the future
ClutchBet Betting Features
ClutchBet Same Game Parlay
ClutchBet has a relatively complete Same Game Parlay offering for basketball and football, on par with many of the major sportsbooks in the country. With over 150 markets for some games, ClutchBet has plenty of depth to its SGP.
We hope to see this feature expanded to more sports in the future. While NBA, NFL, and NCAA Basketball and Football bettors have it made, those who wish to create Same Game Parlays for the MLB and NHL cannot at the time of this review.
On the whole, we found ClutchBet's odds to be more or less in line with market leaders in the state like Caesars Sportsbook and PointsBet. While there was some fluctuation, ClutchBet's odds were competitive with those of the bigger books.
One cool feature of ClutchBet is that users are able to toggle between American, Fractional, and Decimal odds formats. Many bettors find Decimal odds easier to read and interpret than American odds, so this was an attribute that was particularly user-friendly.
ClutchBet Live Betting
ClutchBet doesn't blow you away with live betting features, but it's solid enough.
There is live game tracking, but unfortunately, no live streaming to be found.
Live odds are not updated exceptionally quickly, which could lead to some bets being missed in the heat of the moment.
If you're really into live betting, I imagine a bigger operator like PointsBet or BetMGM may serve you better, but ClutchBet isn't a bad option if you want an alternative.
A unique selling point of ClutchBet Sportsbook is the one-of-a-kind ClutchClash.
This is a system that allows you to make head-to-head parlay bets based on the big match-ups in a given game. For example, if the Lakers are playing the Bucks, you can bet on whether Giannis or Lebron will have the most points, rebounds, assists, or most other counting stats provided you make a choice for at least three of the available markets.
ClutchClash makes NFL & NBA betting feel unique on ClutchBet
Unfortunately, ClutchClash is only available for football and basketball betting for the time being. We hope this feature gets added to the baseball, hockey, and soccer markets sooner rather than later.

ClutchBet App Review
Available on both iOS and Android, ClutchBet offers a very solid and easy-to-use mobile app.
The app won't blow you away with all of the shiny bells and whistles that you may find on the bigger bookies like BetMGM or Caesars Sportsbook, but ClutchBet more than punches at its weight class when compared to similar-level bookmakers like WynnBET and Hard Rock Sportsbook.
It may not have all of the slick features of major sportsbooks, but the ClutchBet App gets the job done
You can easily find all of the betting features like Same Game Parlays, live betting, and ClutchClash and it functions smoothly as you wager.
During my time reviewing ClutchBet (primarily through on mobile), I found the app worked very well with minimal lag issues stopping me from placing my wagers even while live betting.
The ClutchBet App is available for download on both the App Store and Google Play.

ClutchBet Payment Options
Users can deposit and withdraw from ClutchBet via the following payment methods:
- Visa & MasterCard Debit Cards
- VIP Preferred ACH/e-check
- Paysafe Cash
The addition of debit cards was a relatively recent one and makes ClutchBet far more appealing for banking purposes.
One of the best parts about banking with ClutchBet is the fact that there are no minimum withdrawal requirements. Some of the big sportsbooks, like DraftKings Sportsbook and BetMGM, require users to have at least $20 in their account in order to make a withdrawal.
This lack of a requirement is a great example of how ClutchBet can focus on being more user-friendly than the big competitors.
Deposits are typically within your account instantly, while withdrawals take 1-3 business days to process.
ClutchBet Customer Support
ClutchBet's customer support stacks up well against even the toughest competitors.
They have a customer service option for just about every complaint you can have, highlighted by the reliability of a 24/7 live chat via the Clutchbet website and app.
On the downside, the FAQ section of the ClutchBet website has some outdated information and is fairly limited in the questions it's answering. A good FAQ can be a first line of defense against customers having to reach out via live chat, email, or phone, so this area should be improved.
- Email: email@example.com
- Live Chat: 24/7 via the ClutchBet website or mobile app
- Phone Support: 1-888-368-2221
- FAQ: via the ClutchBet website or app
