So, what is injury protection?
In the past, sportsbooks like FanDuel have automatically given users bet protection when a player they've placed a prop bet on gets hurt before a certain point in the game — usually halftime for basketball games, for example. This promotion has been available for NBA prop bets in the past, but the sportsbook has leveled up in summer 2026. Now, you can get full-game injury protection on NBA and WNBA games for just 3% of your bet.
We'll break down the offer in more detail below, but here's the gist: You can now toggle Bet Protect+ on, and for a 3% fee, you'll have your bet protected for the entire game, meaning you'll receive your money back in a straight bet and have the prop removed from your parlay if you added other picks to your betslip.

Using BetProtect+ on WNBA and NBA games is as simple as using a profit boost token or a bonus bet. Here's how to use BetProtect+:
- Log in to the FanDuel Sportsbook app
- Add a player prop bet in a WNBA or NBA game to your betslip
- Both straight bets and parlays are eligible for BetProtect+
- Toggle the BetProtect+ slider on to activate the promotion
- A fee of 3% of your wager will be applied when you toggle BetProtect+ on
- If the player in your prop bet leaves the game due to injury and never returns, you'll have your bet protected
- If you placed a straight prop bet, you'll receive your wager back in cash
- If your player prop was part of a parlay or SGP, you'll have that leg removed from your parlay and your odds will be recalculated with the remaining legs
